Yesterday morning we welcomed a team from Bethany Christian Trust, who came to inform us about the opportunities and challenges of the work in Fife, as well as something of the bigger picture across Scotland.
Doug Drysdale, Craig Dobbie and Lorraine Beveridge all shared their experiences, giving us a better understanding of the needs homeless people have, as well as an honest account of those whose lives have been transformed, and some who have been helped, but did not see such change.
Lorraine shared her own experiences of being helped and supported by Bethany. It was thrilling to hear about the different people who helped her along the way, how she learned to trust people again and experience their love, and about how God had changed her and given her so much lasting hope.
We focused on Paul’s encouraging words in Galatians 6: 9 Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. 10 Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.
Thanks to Shona, John and Davina for organising a terrific lunch. We are now able to pray more intelligently for both staff and service users. We hope we can raise some cash to help reduce the funding gap currently jeopardising the good work being done in Fife.
May we all be inspired to keep on doing good- sowing to please the Holy Spirit and sowing in faith as we anticipate a future harvest!
