Safeguarding in the Free Church of Scotland
We care about the welfare of each individual and we seek to make the Church a safe place for all. To this end, we’re committed to training those who work on our behalf with children and vulnerable adults, to make sure they know how to recognise and report harm or abuse.
In general terms, Kirk Sessions are responsible for fully and effectively implementing the Free Church of Scotland Safeguarding Policy and Guidelines in congregations and all Kirk Sessions are required to appoint at least one Safeguarding Coordinator. Ideally, there should also be a Depute Safeguarding Coordinator where this is possible.
In general terms, the role of the Safeguarding Coordinators is to act on behalf of their Kirk Session to help ensure that the Church’s Safeguarding Policy and Guidelines are fully and effectively implemented within the congregation.
Kirkcaldy Free Church (KFC) has therefore appointed Safeguarding staff as follows:
Safeguarding Coordinator: G Cervantes
Depute Safeguarding Coordinator: W Galpin
Email: [email protected]
KFC Telephone: 01592 308 406
Further contact details for KFC Safeguarding staff are provided on the Safeguarding Poster displayed in the church premises.
